Rock Paper Scissors in Support of Lower East Side Girls Club

March 24, 2016 — by lorizimmer

Manhattan has become a playground for the rich (and largely boring), so many of us forget that there are still communities that need our help while we are gallivanting from gallery to gallery chugging free wine. The Lower East Side Girls Club has been making magic happen in the lives of girls and young women ages 8 to 23 for the past 18 years, and I am extremely humbled and honored to join them (along with a stellar committee) in helping to raise funds for their new Alphabet City Art School.

Join us March 30th at The Highline Loft for Rock Paper Scissors, an incredible night of live art and drinks, hosted by Deborah Harry, Cynthia Rowley, Rosario Dawson, Chloë Sevigny, and an incredible host committee. Tickets are available here

If you can’t make it, our auction on Paddle8 went live yesterday- Some amazing things…an original photograph of Deborah Harry by Bob Gruen, works by Christo, Fred Tomaselli, Miya Ando, Logan Hicks, Drew Conrad, Swoon, Wayne White and more. See you March 30th!

The Art of Cardboard at Art on Paper

March 2, 2016 — by lorizimmer

I was invited by Gallery Director Lynzy Blair of Joseph Gross Gallery to co-curate some of my artists from The Art of Cardboard for their booth at Art on PaperMarch 3-6 at Pier 36. Together, we chose the paper crafted flora of Lacy Barry, and the epic cardboard fauna of Laurence Vallières. Vallières was also  one of Art on Paper’s Special Projects, constructing an oversized cardboard sculpture throughout the duration of the fair.

The booth included the beautiful work of Lala Abaddon, Lyle Owerko, Dave White, Joseph Grazi, John Felix Arnold, Alison Mosshart and more.
